Welcome to my blog and my very first PINK SATURDAY. I'm glad you're here and I hope you enjoy your visit.
I decided to share with you my childhood Vogue Ginny Doll that I received for Christmas in 1954. I decked her out in pink so she could celebrate her birthday and Pink Saturday at the same time. Her birthday hat was from Carolyn at Carolyn's Rock and Roll Ginny site. If you enjoy dolls (and vintage Ginny Dolls in particular) you'll enjoy her site.
HAPPY PINK SATURDAY!!
I don't think I've seen that photo of you, Betty, it's so cute. Can't believe little Ginny is perched in there looking in PERFECT condition LOL.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to pink Saturday. Your doll and the little pink things are so cute. Happy pink Saturday
ReplyDeleteWelcome to pink Saturday...so glad you decide to join in on the fun.
ReplyDeleteYou are so lucky that you still have your childhood doll....I so wish I still had one of mine.
Rember me in November ...for I will be having a doll contest then.
What a fabulous post! Your Ginny doll is in great shape. I have my mothers Ginny doll and her little chest of clothes. I used to play with when I was little, so my doll is a little worn...Thanks for sharing!

ReplyDeleteThat is so sweet! We had Ginny Dolls, too, and unfortunatly I took mine to the Beauty Parlor. It was actually the Unbeauty Parlor after I had finished with them. ;-) Welcome to Pink Saturday. Glad to have you onboard.

ReplyDeleteOhmygosh, are you ever lucky to have that doll and I am lucky to have popped over to see her! Welcome to Pink Saturday!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! I have some Ginny's. I have been craving a new Nancy Ann and a Madame Alexander lately. I collect dolls, mostly wood and cloth, and I carve the wooden ones. I don't have any featured today, but you can find them in the category "Hitty" if you are interested. Thanks for posting! Happy Pink Saturday!

Hey, Betty! I live near your old neck of the woods (Newport News, VA) and I'm just dropping by to say BRAVO to you and your DH for taking in poor little Zoom! And also for spaying and feeding MaMa. My husband and I are also Crazy Cat People - we had 4 cats when we managed to catch 2 feral kittens in a lot across from our local Wal Mart! The ferals, Sammy (Sam's Club) and Wally (Wal Mart - they are both females, though) are still skittish after 2 years, but when you look in their eyes, you can see that they appreciate the care they receive...
ReplyDeleteI loved your post! Happy PINK Saturday! ♥ Diane

HAPPY PINK SATURDAY BETTY,
ReplyDeleteHAPPY FIRST PINK SATURDAY...IT IS MY FIRST PINK SATURDAY ALSO. ENJOYED YOUR BLOG VERY MUCH. WHEN I WAS YOUNG I DIDN'T REALLY WANT DOLLS MUCH BUT NOW THAT I AM 53, I COLLECT THEM, GO FIGURE.
I DID HAVE THE DOLL, I CAN'T REMEMBER HER NAME BUT SHE had RED HAIR AND WORE ROUND BLACK GLASSES AND I THINK HER CLOTHING WAS LIKE A SAILOR DRESS...MY SISTER GOT A SHRINKING VIOLET THE SAME YEAR AND STILL HAS HER....ONE OF HER SAYINGS WAS, "I'M AFRAID OF NOISY BOYS!' SHE IS REALLY CUTE....MINE MIGHT HAVE BEEN CHATTY CATHY BUT I DON'T THINK SO.
MEMORIES...
THANKS FOR THE SWEET POST
BLESSINGS
debbie
