I've posted this link in the past. Every year since it began I've been following the New Jersey falcons that nest on top of a building in Jersey City.

The original female must have "aged out" as a new one has appeared this year. I believe there has been two males. Many years back one of the males was found injured on the sidewalk and went to live in a rehab place. A new male moved in and took up residence at that time.
I saw the one falcon on the roof this morning. Sometimes I just leave it running in the background while I'm online and take a look every few minutes. The camera scans out over the Hudson River and you can see NYC too!

JERSEY FALCONS
Some years back I read about a couple of Peregrine Falcons that nest on top of a building in Jersey City, NJ. I was intrigued and have been following them ever since. (I am a Jersey girl at heart.)
Within the last week the female has laid four eggs. At least it looks like four to me. Anyway, check out the site and be sure and read the Nest Box News.

It's exciting when the eggs start hatching, but every year there's some kind of disaster. I believe it was last year that only one baby survived. The site is maintained by the NJ Division of Fish and Wildlife.
I feel like a grandmother when the eggs start hatching. :)

Sharing...
I've been following this website every spring for the last four or five years. A pair of Peregrine Falcons has been nesting on the top of an office building in Jersey City, NJ. There's a live webcam so you can follow all the action. This year there were four eggs, but only three hatched. Within the next two or three weeks they'll be learning to fly. They recently figured out how to leave the nest box, so they're not always in camera view. Be sure and read the Newbox News. http://www.state.nj.us/dep/fgw/peregrinecam/
