A New Adventure for Tuesday Show and Tail

Our feral mother and kittens have gotten pretty adventurous.  Can you find Jem and Atticus up in the tree?  They've started trying to follow the squirrels.  Hint...Jem is in the "Y" of the tree and Atticus is on the lower branch that goes over the garage roof.  (Click on pictures to enlarge.)  This was early one morning last week.

Their sister Scout watches from a safe distance.

Mom is never far away.  This is Cali watching from the driveway.

We've had to temporarily pause our Trap, Neuter and Release program.  Cali and Scout have both been fixed, but Scout raised such a stink crying and carrying on when we put her back in the garage that none of the others would go in the garage for a while.  Since we like to put the trap in the garage and out of the hot sun we decided to wait a little while before we try catching the boys.  I think next week we'll try again.

I'm linking this to Tuesday's Show and Tail over at West Virginia Treasures.  I had originally intended to post about all the cats I've had in my life since childhood in order, but I haven't had time to go through old photos and scan them, so this week I'm sharing the newest members of the family with you.  Head over to Angela's blog for a list of this week's participants.

  1. Here kitty kitty! hehehe I suppose that wouldn't be enough to get them to come to you though. Aw, they are cute kitties. The mom is pretty too! I hope you can catch them soon. I wouldn't want to have the trap outside either. Who knows what you might catch! You might even catch that squirrel! lol

Thanks for sharing with us this week!

  2. I have heard of a few folks that will trap feral cats for spay/neuter, then release them. It's great that you have been able to do this. In our area, there are a couple of places that will do the surgeries at low cost, as so many people have just released their pets when they are forced to move to an apartment, and the cats have litters that have litters and more litters. It's a shame it happens, but caring people like yourselves are able to help cats in this way! Thank you for all you do!

  4. So you love cats - what is your program - trap - neuter - release? You actually pay for the neutering of strange cats? That is wonderful.

I think I have looked at your blog before.

    Welcome.

  5. Love that tree! It's so great that you are trying to help with the feral cats in your area. Spays and neuters aren't cheap, but they sure help to stem the tide. :)

Thanks for joining us in Angela's Show and Tails. You are new since I've been gone for so long.

  7. You're so good to the kitties. A semi-feral moved onto our porch last summer, now he is so lazy and fat he's gentle as my house cat. I think he may have already been fixed because he sure doesn't act like a tom cat.
