ALPHABE-THURSDAY - The Letter "I" as in...

It's time again for ALPHA-BE THURSDAY sponsored by Jenny at Jenny Matlock..."off on my tangent." For a list of participants and information on how you too can participate head on over to Jenny's blog.

This week we are working on the letter I. What a coincidence! GinnyFaith's class is also working on the letter I this week. For show and tell each member of the class had to bring something that started with the letter I. (Click on each picture to enlarge.)

GinnyFaith got to go first. Since she's IRISH she decided to tell the class about IRELAND and some of their IRISH traditions.

Then it was Ginny Joy's turn. She surprised everyone by bringing ICE CREAM and making ICE CREAM CONES and ICE CREAM SUNDAES for the entire class.

Ginny Sue was up next and she brought her ICE SKATES to share with the class.

Mikey and Joey brought an IGLOO filled with ICE. It was very heavy and took two of them to lift it. Good thing they're strong.

Then Anthony brought a bowl full of reptiles including two baby IGUANAS. He held them in his hands for all to see.

With that Ginny Ellen had seen enough! She held up a sign with one of her favorite "I" words and let Anthony know exactly what she thought!

Thank you Mrs. Matlock!

  7. Your Ginny stories are wonderful, I don't know why they weren't ever introduced into the UK. Or maybe they were and I just never came across them before seeing your blog.
    Anyway I think they're cute!

  12. I love your little vignettes. They are so charming.

I started having a bit of an anxiety flashback with the whole teaching nun thing but, thank heavens, I didn't see any rulers on her desk.

Not that I ever got slapped across the knuckles in Catholic school or anything.

    Your post made me smile.

Well, except the part about fearing for my knuckles!

    A+

  26. I've just discovered "Alphabet Thursday". What a great idea. Although I've been blogging for almost a year, I've been a little reluctant to join some of the "goings on" but really enjoy seeing and reading them. I love your doll classroom. My favorite childhood play was with my dollhouse tending to every detail. I shall return--and not just on Thursdays.

    Best,
    Bonnie

  28. Oh my goodness!!!! Woww! You did a great post! I love the setting and stories behind each one!
I love miniatures! Oh, I'd love to have that whole classroom scene. Hee hee the Nun was classic! I went to a Catholic school when we were stationed with the Air Force in Taiwan. And boy, does my hubby have a doozy of a story of his nun/teachers when he was little! :o)

    Blessings & Aloha!

  31. Hi Betty

This is such an adorable vignette! It reminds me of my days in a Catholic grammer school, except that we had to wear a navy blue uniform.

I hope I can come up with a letter J this week!

Still trying to catrch up with everyone since coming back from Colorado ..it's been such a busy week.
