"Y" as in YELLOW

This week we are studying the letter "Y" for Alphabe-Thursday sponsored by Ms. Jenny at Jenny Matlock..."off on my tangent."
Our weather finally cooled off a little and I've been spending time out in the garage trying to get a wooden trash can painted for the kitchen and a table finished that I started working on over a year ago.  I only have a limited amount of time to work on this kind of stuff since days like this are few and far between.  I wish we had basements here!

All of a sudden it was time for Alphabe-Thursday!  I had to dip into my archives to come up with something.  How about "Y" as in YELLOW?

Some years back I got together with some Ginny Doll friends.  One of the ladies made our dolls ice hockey uniforms.  They wore YELLOW shirts.  I could be mistaken but I believe their helmets were made out of those Leggs eggs that held panty hose and were sold in grocery stores some years back.
She made an ice rink too.
Things got ugly but that's how it is with Ice Hockey.

I think these pictures were taken with my very first digital camera.

Now head over to Ms. Jenny's blog for a list of this week's participants.  Thanks for visiting.

  1. I like your hockey team, Betty. Pretty clever dressing them up like that. I dug for yellow things too and made a good haul. It's been pretty busy around here too. I am chauffeur, bottle washer, and cook.

Don't know if you know but Mrs. Jim fell September 13 and broke her right hip. She is getting along pretty good now and stopped going to therapy last Thursday. Doc says no driving yet, she will be so very glad when she can. Anyway, you know how busy caretakers have to be. You are busier still than I am.

Like the Hawaiians say, got to "hang tight."

  3. What fun photos. I remember those Leggs eggs! How clever to use them as helmets.

I know what you mean about not having a lot of space to paint things. We DO have a basement, but it's kind of dark, not a lot of space and now it's cold. I'm painting some dressers in our living/dining room right now! (Partly because they'll be going in our room on the same floor and I didn't want to have to help carry them down to the basement then back up!)

  7. Yum Cha is Cantonese for drinking tea. In the process of having up of tea, there are baskets of morsels of small mouthful of either steamed or deep fried Chinese dumplings and cakes.

In a Yum Cha restaurant, they usually push trolleys for you to choose the food. They count and record from your baskets how much you have eaten.
