Today Beverly over at How Sweet The Sound is throwing a party for Pink Saturday's Third Birthday!

How time flies!  I'm afraid I haven't done a Pink Saturday post in a long time.  Perhaps a year or so, but real life sometimes gets in the way and I also found myself running out of pinkness.   When I received Beverly's E-mail about Pink Saturday's big day I knew I'd have to participate  I hate to miss a party.

I've found Blogger to be a little finicky lately and I'm hoping I can post some pictures.  Usually when I have trouble I just sign out and then sign in again and things are OK, but for the last couple of days I have had trouble signing out.  Good thing I'm not on a public computer.

I've also been having trouble leaving comments on blogs that have the little pull down menu for "Comment As: Select Profile."  For some reason it wants me to sign in again (even though I'm already signed in) and then it still won't put the comment through.  I've gone around in circles signing in again and again to no avail.  Anyone else having trouble?

I decided I'd repeat some of my previous Pink Saturday photographs since some of you are probably new and hopefully the rest of you are as forgetful as me and it will be like new again.

I'm a doll collector and often showed my dolls in pink...

The first one is my childhood Ginny doll...a 1954 Bent Knee Walker.  The rest of the dolls were collected in recent years.

Sometimes I did show other things...

Like the pink squares I crocheted over 40 years ago when I was pregnant with my second son.  I started putting a blue border around them, but never finished.  (Back then we had no way of knowing if it was a boy or girl.)  I keep thinking I'll get this finished someday, but I no longer remember how to crochet them.  I also bought the wool while we were living in Italy, so it's not like I could get more if needed. Blogger wants to center the text ever since I added that last picture and I'm not going to argue.

I've always liked this bag with the pink trim...

And my sweet little Zoom in her pink bed. the text is no longer centered.  I think I better get this post published before something else happens.

This font is supposed to be pink, but it's really more of a mauve because I was hoping it would be easier to read.  Is it working?

Now head over to Beverly's blog for a list of this week's participants and information on how you can join the party.

Thank you Beverly for organizing and keeping track of Pink Saturday!

  1. Your dolls are so cute and I love their little vignettes. There is blogger problems all over and Lynn said Blogger is acting like a booger and that's about a great weekend.

  2. Hi Betty, love your doll collection. I dont think we ever get too old for our dolls.

  3. All the dolls are adorable! I used to have a Chatty Cathy back in the day! Wish I had the sense to save some of those cute dolls I had. I love seeing yours. Happy Pink Saturday! Blogger isn't being very kind. I almost didn't get to leave a comment.

  4. Hi Betty; I thought this was you; I picked out your Ginny out of all the posts to go and look at. LOL I always choose the doll pics first, of course. I loved seeing your CC's again! I'd forgotten about the Valentine dress. Hope all is well with you!

  5. Your dolls are just too cute Betty!

  8. Needless to say I thoroughly enjoyed your Pink Saturday post!! I check your blog daily and I share your love of Ginny dolls! Love the screen in the first photo. Do you buy all of your dolls and accessories on ebay? I only have 2 Ginnys from my childhood but I would love to add more.
I have had the same problems posting comments...what's going on?

  9. I love all your pretty pinks with your cute dolls!

I'm having blogger troubles too. Sure hope they get the problems resolved soon. My followers list has disappeared.... Ugh!

    Happy weekend!

  10. Hi Betty! I'm so glad you stopped by my Blog today. I was gonna be your newest Friend/Follower, but I can't find it on your may be right...a comspiracy....Love your dolls and their displays. Hope you're havin a great holiday weekend.

  11. You have an amazing doll collection. They are each one unique. Truly enjoyed my visit with you.

  12. Oh my gosh, Betty, I am in "doll heave!" I had a Ginny doll when I was 3 years old in 1957! And I had a Chatty Cathy--wow, I begged for her for I LOVE your post!!! Happy Pink Saturday.

  13. Betty, I, and many other Blogspot bloggers are having the same problem commenting on some blogs as you are! Blogger said on their "help" page that they are aware of the situation and are "woking on it." Lots of people's Followers List have become invisible too!

Your dolls are all so adorable! I think you should bind those pink and blue squares and make a doll blanket for your larger dolls.

    Happy Pink Saturday!

  14. So cute dolls!

    Happy Pink Saturday!

  15. Your Dolls are so gorgeous, they looked so lovely having there little get together around the table.

    Happy Pink Saturday
    Love Carol

  16. What a happy pink post. I've always loved your Ginny dolls.

  17. I am still having problems too - it is so frustrating.

    Good luck.

I love your pink Saturday - the
3rd doll down - is a Chatty Cathy Doll - yours is in pink and mine was in blue!

  18. Betty Betty Betty I am so excited to meet you. I am a doll lover also. You have captured mine & Miss DeDe's heart. She is my shall I say alter ego. Some day I'll explain. In the meantime if you have a chance please visit my first post to see what I did to fix blogger. My second post is my sweet Melodys's celebrating. Our girls would have a great time together. So would we!

  19. Thank you thank you thank you!

I thought I was the only one that was experiencing the twilight zogger. Seriously, is anyone working on this problem? It has been going on like this for days now.

Anyway: Love the dolls, and I really think you should jsut get back in there and crochet those squares. Maybe buy some other wool and just practise first, I am sure it's just like riding a bike and you'll finish it in no time!

  20. aarrrggh! Blogger can be a pain sometimes!
I enjoyed seeing your dolls in their vignettes. I do remember the Ginny doll.
I started knitting a blanket for my son before he was born. It was greenish. I never finished it and I didn't write down the pattern I was following. Oh well. He survived childhood anyway.

  21. Thanks for the advice on the tick. It works. Or actually, things are broken and someone needs to fix it, but right now the piece of string and sticky tape is doing the trick.

  22. AdorAbLe! Jalina Rose and I sooooo want to come and play! Truly a fun PINK Saturday post! Happy PS to you!

  23. Happy Pink Saturday, Betty. I am so glad you joined us today. I've missed you.

You know I always love your dolls. I believe my Ginny doll has on that same little pink dress.

And, your Chatty Cathys are fantastic!!!

  24. Visiting from Pink Saturday, so many posts to try to visit. I adore your doll collection, I still have a "bride doll" I recieved for Christmas in 1958. My grandma Jewell was a collector too, up until she passed away at 97. Your're never to old and your dolls are just wonderful.Ann
